چکیده

Syndiotactic poly(methyl methacrylate) (sPMMA)-polybutadiene (PBD)—sPMMA triblock copolymers, or MBM, have been studied in the presence of o-xylene which is a selective solvent for the central PBD block. Syndiotactic PMMA is known to self associate in o-xylene. The central PBD sequence does not prevent the selfassociation of sPMMA from occurring. Actually, this phenomenon contributes to the stability of the gels formed at room temperature. An endotherm is observed at 35°C, which is responsible for a gel-sol transition. The original solutions have been heated up to 80°C and then rapidly cooled down below 35°C and maintained at 10, 20 and 25°C respectively. The self-association of the sPMMA outer blocks, and thus the liquid—solid transition, have been studied at each of these temperatures. Dependence of the gel viscosity on frequency and temperature effects on viscoelasticity has also been investigated.

Synthesis and Thermal Properties of Novel Biodegradable ABCBA Pentablock Copolymers from Poly (Ethylene glycol), L-Lactide and p-Dioxanone

In this work, new biodegradable ABCBA type pentablock copolymers with different mole ratio of L-lactide and PPDO-b-PEG-b-PPDO triblock copolymer were synthesized and characterized. In the first step, PPDO-b-PEG-b-PPDO triblock copolymer was synthesized via a ring-opening polymerization of P-DiOxanone (PDO) monomer with Poly (Ethylene Glycol) (P...

Experimental and Theoretical Investigation of Gelation Time of Nanostructured Polymer Gels by Central Composite Approach

Currently available polymers as a component of in-situ gels are unsuitable for treating high-temperature/high-salinity reservoirs due to their chemical and thermal degradation. In this study, a new copolymer-based gel system including high molecular weight nanostructured polymers (NSPs) was developed to address the excessive water production problem in reservoirs under harsh conditions. The sta...

Effect of Inorganic Polymer Gel Systems on Residual Resistance Factor in Fractured Core Model

Excessive water production through fractures become an important problem in oil exploration of fractured reservoirs. For this purpose, polymer gels were prepared by crosslinking of aqueous solutions of polymer and crosslinker for the purpose of water management in high water cut fractured reservoirs. A copolymer of sulfonated polyacrylamide was used as polymer and chromium triacetate (Cr(OA...
